that every material—whether natural or man-made—holds untapped creative potential.
Our founder, a design aficionada and obsessive problem solver and innovator, established Material Antics to address a critical gap in the circular economy: the rescue and repurposing of materials deemed unsuitable for traditional resale or donation. We specialize in material recovery from upholstered furniture, particularly focusing on high-quality or valuable materials such as leather that have not yet outlived their purpose.

Material Antics launched with a clear mission: rescue materials from objects that were no longer suitable as originally intended and harvest the material for re-purposing to showcase its potential as a valuable local resource.
We’re developing specialized techniques for material recovery, particularly from upholstered furniture, while connecting with a community of makers and designers passionate about sustainable innovation.
Our current focus is on leather rescue, salvage and resell, workshop development, and creating a new narrative around waste as opportunity.
